A New Parish Church Havana, Cuba

Cardinal Jaime Ortega, Archbishop of Havana on the 14th of March 2015 at 10 AM laid the first stone of the new parish church Saint John Paul II, in the Antonio Guiteras neighborhood (known as Bahía) of East Havana.

The parish church will be built reusing the altar structures made for the March 28, 2012 Havana Mass of Pope Benedict XVI, on land give by the government in the middle of the neighborhood.

For twenty-one years the Eucharist has been celebrated, and catechesis and bible classes have been imparted, in private family homes.
