We must revise our whole conception of what redemption is.
Rationalism is still deeply rooted in us, with its insistence on the spiritual alone in after-life.
But redemption is more than an intellectual process, an interior disposition or emotion; we must learn all over again to grasp its divine concrete reality.
Redemption is an integral and vital part of man's existence; so much so that St. Paul (whom certainly no one can accuse of being a worshiper of the body) actually defines it as a process that begins with bodily renewal. This then the gloriously illustrated promise of the Resurrection! Hence Paul's "...and if Christ has not risen, vain then our preaching, vain too is your faith" (I Cor. 15:14).
