Remembering Balaam's Ass

When things do not go your way, when good men oppose you, think of Balaam's Ass. God will send asses to oppose you for your own salvation! Thank God when things do not go your way! You also need to become a faithful ass of the Lord!

Every branch in me that bears no fruit [my Father] will take away; and every branch that bears fruit he will cleanse, that it may bear more fruit. John 15: 2

The Holy Spirit is the Sanctifier, He will make your way straight by means of angels, of asses and of men! Get used to it! Love the Lord especially when He blocks your way! and leads you where you would not go.

Balaam's Ass
Numbers 22:21 Balaam arose in the morning, and saddling his ass went with them.
22 And God was angry. And an angel of the Lord stood in the way against Balaam, who sat on the ass, and had two servants with him.
23 The ass seeing the angel standing in the way, with a drawn sword, turned herself out of the way, and went into the field. And when Balaam beat her, and had a mind to bring her again to the way,
24 The angel stood in a narrow place between two walls, wherewith the vineyards were enclosed.
25 And the ass seeing him, thrust herself close to the wall, and bruised the foot of the rider. But he beat her again:
26 And nevertheless the angel going on to a narrow place, where there was no way to turn aside either to the right hand or to the left, stood to meet him.
27 And when the ass saw the angel standing, she fell under the feet of the rider: who being angry beat her sides more vehemently with a staff.
28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said: What have I done to thee? Why strikest thou me, lo, now this third time?
29 Balaam answered: Because thou hast deserved it, and hast served me ill: I would I had a sword that I might kill thee.
30 The ass said: Am not I thy beast, on which thou hast been always accustomed to ride until this present day? tell me if I ever did the like thing to thee. But he said: Never.
31 Forthwith the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel standing in the way with a drawn sword, and he worshipped him falling flat on the ground.
32 And the angel said to him: Why beatest thou thy ass these three times? I am come to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse, and contrary to me:
33 And unless the ass had turned out of the way, giving place to me who stood against thee, I had slain thee, and she should have lived.
34 Balaam said: I have sinned, not knowing that thou didst stand against me: and now if it displease thee that I go, I will return.
35 The angel said: Go with these men, and see thou speak no other thing than what I shall command thee. He went therefore with the princes.
36 And when Balac heard it he came forth to meet him in a town of the Moabites, that is situate in the uttermost borders of Arnon.
37 And he said to Balaam: I sent messengers to call thee, why didst thou not come immediately to me? was it because I am not able to reward thy coming?
38 He answered him: Lo, here I am: shall I have power to speak any other thing but that which God shall put in my mouth?
39 So they went on together, and came into a city, that was in the uttermost borders of his kingdom.

Getting our Bearings

Abortion is worse than rape (without denying any of rape's horror and betrayal, a mother betraying the child in her womb is so much greater because of the gravity of the crime, murder, and the absolute unquestionable innocence and complete vulnerability of the victim and the natural responsibility of the nurturing mother)!

In rape the woman is the victim, in abortion the woman is both the criminal and a victim of that heinous crime, for it is she who willfully inflicts the harm upon the child (the innocent victim) and upon herself (the guilty victim)! The harm of murder and of being a murderer therefore is greater than the harm of suffering the criminal lust of another, as bad as that may be. In the former case the guilt of the murdering mother is great, in the latter there is no guilt on the part of the victim who suffers innocently the undesired crime of another. A great difference! Abortion is worse than rape for the woman!

"For it is better, if the will of God should so will, that you suffer for doing good than for doing evil." 1 Peter 3:17

Homosexual activity is violence.

Sodomy is as bad as murder.
That is why God killed and continues to kill people for it!
It is dirty and that is why it sickens and kills the flesh! Sins of the flesh damage the flesh, emotionally, spiritually and, yes, ultimately, physically!

God is not arbitrary, He sanctions what is bad because it is bad, for our good, for those who would listen to Him, Christ our blessed Lord.

Bad Wine is Better than Good Water

Better poor liturgy than no liturgy! Men need the divine Mystery which comes to us today primarily through the form of the Holy Mass. Every person needs the Mass. It's not the same as anything else. Wine is not water! Water is good, wine is better! Go to Mass. Go to Mass daily! Enter the Life of God!

My flesh is meat indeed, my blood is drink indeed! John 6:56.

When you are tired of Facebook and Tritter and DirectTV, etc., say the Rosary! Say the Rosary and go to Mass and read Sacred Scripture and you will enter the life of God. Everything will become real for you! You will see God and your life will be changed! Pray.

Those who pray will certainly be saved.
Those who do not pray will certainly be lost.

The greatest prayer and the ongoing source of all prayer is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (transhistorical Calvary!).
The greatest orans (person of prayer) is the Most Blessed Virgin Mary. The Rosary makes Mary in heaven your prayer partner! Power!

Water is good, wine is better!

Liturgy is the best antidote to rationalism, it grounds you in the truth. Liturgy is where your truth touches the Truth, in His Flesh and Blood. The Truth becomes Flesh and Blood at every Most Holy Mass! The Truth touches you.

That To Which I am Now Listening

Just cut and paste any of the works to YouTube and you will have much joyful listening!
You can do the same for any other type of music, e.g. trumpet concerti, piano sontate, etc.
First, I started listening to Abbiate and then to Abeille and Abel. Wonderful!
