It Takes a Village to Raise an Orphan

A child raised by the village is, by definition, an orphan.

God made them male and female so that the proper context for the rearing of children is the union of one's own biological parents who conceive and bear and raise their own God-given children in His love.  Anything else is contrary to God's perfect plan for children and the family.

"It takes a village to raise a child" when the family does not exist, i.e. where marriage is destroyed! to the detriment of the little ones.  And, yes, the entire village is affected.  That is why honest villages tend to take marriage and chastity and virginity and marital fidelity so seriously.

It takes one man and one woman, under God, to raise a child!, with all of the help they can get from the greater society.  But the holy family is the basic God-given unit, not the government, even of the village.
