Daily Spiritual Exercise for Priests

Here is a daily horarium recommended for parish priests, beginning in the seminary, as contained in my Regula cleri, Avenione: Merande, 1757, 17-18. Find it also here.

Exercitia
Pro ipsa recollectionis Die.
Ordo Diei

Hora 5. surges.

Semiquinta, oratio, meditatio, Prima & Tertia.

Hora 7. praeparatio ad confessionem totius mensis praeteriti, & ad missam aut communionem.

Hora 9. dispositio testamenti, Sexta & Nona, prandium & recreatio.

Hora 1. post meridium, examen particulare, rosarium, & consideratio de angustiis in hora mortis.

Hora 2. Vesperae, Completorium, acceptatio mortis, actus religionis, & aliqua pro defunctis oratio.

Hora 3. meditatio, Matutinum officium pro crastina die.

Semiquarta, consideratio ad crucifixum, aspirationes ad felicem mortem postulandam, spiritualis administratio Extremae-unctionis, protestationis, & visitatio Sanctissimi-Sacramenti.

Post coenam & recreationem, commendatio animae, scriptio fructus recollectionis, & lectio documentorum pro eo conservando.
