Pavarotti was not among the great tenors of history, rather, he catered to "the easy, mediocre, taste of the multitude"

The greatest tenors of Pavarotti's generation were Placido Domingo, Nicolai Gedda and Fritz Wunderlich,

I write this remembering how disgusted I was at the "three tenors" performances during which Pavarotti was surely miming, and with the greatest theatrics!
