This is a photo during the consecration of the first Mass offered by the erstwhile censured Maryknoll FatherMiguel d’Escoto Brockmann, reinstated by the Vatican a couple of months ago. Neither he nor the concelebrating priest are wearing the required liturgical vestments, and the Mass is celebrated in a private home, contrary to Canon Law (Can. 932 §1. The eucharistic celebration is to be carried out in a sacred place unless in a particular case necessity requires otherwise...[No apparent necessity here]).
According to the Vatican directive, Maryknoll is in charge of overseeing this Marxist priest's reinstatement to the sacred ministry: the liturgically blind leading the blind!
What is more, Father d'Escoto considers Fidel Castro to be the greatest figure of Latin American history! He must have heard of St. Rosa de Lima, St. Martin de Porres, St. Juan Diego, and Our Lady of Guadalupe?, or if you prefer a holy politician: President Gabriel Garcia Moreno! But Castro? By the way, Castro himself probably would not even recognize d'Escoto's 70's style irregular Mass as the Mass at all!
Father d'Escoto was a leading Sandinista obstinately contrary to Saint John Paul II and Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger.
Meanwhile the Franciscans of the Immaculata and the Paraguayan diocese of Ciudad del Este continue in liturgical Limbo.
