Pope Leo XIV USA Appointments ≈ 83% Hispanic

The appointing of Hispanic bishops in the USA is a trend under Pope Leo XIV. This trend was long over-due, given that the vast majority of Catholics (and of young people in general) in the US are of Spanish heritage. In this, as with the past two American Papacy's (Francis and Leo), the Holy Spirit is acknowledging the shift of the faith from Europe to the American continent. Pope Saint John Paul II was very keen to point out this demographic fact back in 1999! Cf. Ecclesia in America

N.B. Pope Leo was elected Pope May 8, 2025, a year ago this Friday!
